The Line-Up and Auditions for the remainder of HLT’s 78^th Season are:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Auditioners will fill out an audition form and provide a list of scheduling conflicts. (Rehearsal schedules will be created based on cast availability.)

ROLES:

OLIVIA KEEGAN – ­ presenting female; late 20s; energetic; neat; slightly OCD; an architect.
KAREN KEEGAN – presenting female; late 50s-60s; Olivia’s mother.
CARTER KEEGAN ­ – presenting male; 60s; Olivia’s father.
GABE LAWSON ­ – presenting male; late 20s; a writer; good-natured.
LYDIA LAWSON – presenting female; late 50s-60s; Gabe’s mother.
WYATT LAWSON – presenting male; 60s; Gabe’s father.
MAX MIROWSKI – presenting male or female; late 50s; Polish accent; building superintendent

SYNOPSIS:  Olivia and Gabe are moving into their first apartment together. They’ve just packed up all of their belongings and driven halfway across the country to start a new life together in Chicago. Their moving day doesn’t go exactly as planned, though, and things become slightly more complicated when all of their parents show up to help! Can a two-bedroom apartment contain all of the love, laughs, worry, and wisdom that’s about to happen?

William Gillette: presenting male, 40s to 50s. A sharp, charismatic, and wealthy leading man who loves the theatrical.

Felix Geisel: presenting male, 40s to 50s. William’s best friend, a character actor who is sophisticated and dramatic.

Simon Bright: presenting male, 20s to early 30s. A sweet, romantic, and youthful juvenile lead.

Inspector Harriet Goring: presenting female, 40s to 60s. A quirky, eccentric, and intensely British police investigator.

Martha Gillette: presenting female, 70s to 80s. William’s lovable, eccentric, and occasionally sharp-tongued mother.

Madge Geisel: presenting female, 40s to 50s. Felix’s witty, glamorous, and sarcastic wife.

Aggie Wheeler: presenting female, 20s to early 30s. A beautiful, sweet, and seemingly innocent young starlet.

Daria Chase: presenting female, 30s to 50s. A glamorous, ruthless, and terrifyingly sharp theater critic.

SYNOPSIS:  It is December 1936, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

JAMIE – presenting male; Late 20s–early 30s (or ?). Bartender and aspiring pianist. Attractive in a regular-guy way. Sincere, hardworking, very much in love with ABBY. 

MAN – presenting male; 60s. A bit beaten down but good-natured. Easy to talk to, well-spoken, sincere, and very intent on his mission tonight. Husband of 35 years to WOMAN. He is desperate. 

ABBY – presenting female; Late 20s–early 30s (or ?). IHOP waitress and one-time English major. Funny, smart, and very much in love with JAMIE. 

WOMAN – presenting female; 60s or a bit younger. Strong, direct, loving, a little coarse. She is MAN’s wife of 35 years. No one knows her like he does and no one knows him like she. She and MAN bicker but there is a bedrock of love there. They’d do anything for each other and no one can hurt either of them like the other one can.

SYNOPSIS:  Sometimes what happens after “last call” just might change your life. One night in 1981, just as Jamie is closing the bar where he works, a desperate last-minute customer offers him and his girlfriend Abby two thousand dollars to sit and have a drink with him. Who wouldn’t take it?

As the trio swap stories and Jamie considers the decisions he faces about his musical career and his future with his girlfriend Abby, the young couple begins to realize that this older man is unusually invested in their choices… and the reason he gives them is completely unbelievable. But when a very displeased second stranger arrives, the unbelievable begins to look like it just might be true. Now and Then is a heartfelt romantic comedy about the costs of the choices we make, and the people who make them with us.
