Posted on November 16, 2025November 25, 2025 by Heidi Hormel

On Golden Pond is a ‘fantastic show’

Broadway World reviewer gives kudos to cast and set of Hanover Little Theatre’s On Golden Pond, the well-loved and respected show, written by Ernest Thompson, with remaining performances Nov. 20-23. Evening shows start at 7:30 p.m. and matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale to the general public NOW. The single ticket price is $20 for adults and $19 for seniors and students with no fees for tickets printed at home or bought at the door.

SYNOPSIS

Ethel and Norman Thayer, who have returned to their summer home on Golden Pond for the 48th year, are visited by their divorced daughter and her fiancé, who then go off to visit Europe, leaving his teenaged son behind. The boy quickly becomes the “grandchild” the couple have longed for. As the summer wanes, so does the brief idyll, and in the final, deeply moving moments of the play, the couple are brought even closer together.
