HLT Supporting Our Community

Posted on June 18, 2023August 14, 2024 by Doug Cooper

The Hanover Little Theatre has been donating $2 for every ticket sold for one night’s performance for every show during the 74th Season. The Theatre’s donation is matched by Sommer & O’Donnell Attorneys at Law and an anonymous patron. Additionally we have a collection bucket for our generous patrons to contribute any additional amount they would like. Since beginning this tradition, HLT has now donated over $15,000 back to our community.

Heidi Hormel (center), Hanover Little Theatre board member, presented the owners of ButterBee Foundation, Danielle (left) and Tim (right) Klein with a $450 donation from our production of Love, Lies & the Lottery. ButterBee combines standards-aligned environmental STEM with hands-on stewardship to empower learners of all ages to become advocates for pollinators, the environment, and each other. Their cross-curricular programs are developed by certified teachers to combine engagement with rigor, and include developmentally appropriate material for students in grades K-12 right here in the greater Hanover area!

Heidi Hormel (left), Hanover Little Theatre board member, presented CEO, Garrett Trout and Social Rehab Program Manager, Kathy King of True North Wellness Services with a $450 donation from our production of Harvey for the Social Rehab Program. True North’s mission is inspiring hope and healthy living by providing behavioral health and wellness services one person at a time.

Debbie Williams (left), Hanover Little Theatre board member and director of the November 2022 production of Godspell, presented several members of the Compassionate Crafters ministry of the Emmanuel UCC, Hanover, Pennsylvania with a $675 donation from our production of Godspell. This ministry gathers weekly to craft various items for those in need. From crocheted or knit prayer shawls, hats, and scarves for preemies, chemo patients, and shut-ins, to sewn bags and “soakers” for those in nursing homes. This gracious group is willing to make what the community needs.
